If you are looking for a way to add an element of prestige to your Interior Decor, hanging a few Decorative Swords on your wall is the way to roll. Back in ancient times, nations went to war and killed each other with Swords. Also Warriors engaged in death duels using them as well. But these days, we relish those memories but only use these Battle Weapons to decorate our home with, and to impress our friends.

With most swords under $100.00 each these days, it doesn’t take a whole lot of money to add a serious look to your home. There are a plethora of great options online to find the Collectible Sword you need, so you won’t have to worry much about finding the right one. The only question is which one should you buy. In all honesty, from the hundreds of choices you should really consider which one catches your eye. It’s not like you’re going to go out and hurt anyone with it, so the answer is to get the Decorative Sword that fits something you’d like to see in your home for many years.

You can purchase a Collectible Sword that was used by your favorite actor. You can own a Big and Heavy Sword that was used in the movie Braveheart, or a Lord of The Rings Sword. Collecting Replica Swords is a no lose investment, since you can always sell or trade these once you own them. Just holding some of these will give you a feeling of power. This feeling alone makes it worth it for a lot of people to pick one up.

If you are trying to get a complete Sword Collection going, you should consider purchasing a Fantasy and a Katana Sword. These are both very popular and I think look the coolest. However the Heavy ones are also awesome looking and look spectacular dominating one of your walls. You can also get them with Dragon Scabbards, and the Ninja Models with the colored blades. Truth be told only you know what will look the best on your fireplace mantel or hanging up on your living room wall.

For many Centuries the Martial Arts have been a source of Enlightenment, not to just the Japanese, but to folks all over the world. The reason self defense disciplines such as Kempo, Aikido, Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do are called arts is because you could spend a lifetime studying them. Yes you will continue to improve at these the longer you spend trying to learn them.

By studying the martial arts, over time the ultimate goal is to reach the path of enlightenment. This is the spiritual dwelling you will reach within yourself. It can not be accomplished over night, and sports like Football, Baseball and Hockey won’t get you there. Enlightenment is reached through discipline and confidence and power. So what makes Martial Arts different from most American Sports and what is it about them that allows you to reach this state of being?

The fact is, Martial Arts deals with combat. Once you understand what combat is all about, you will automatically become enlightened. Understanding combat and how to take on an enemy will allow you to see things without blinders on. You will understand your surroundings and will start thinking from a totally different perspective than you see things now. Once you’ve studied Karate for a few years, you’ll know exactly how to posture yourself and how to react if someone throws a punch at you.

God Forbid if some nut case pulls a knife on you, you’ll know exactly how to disarm him quickly and safely. The average person could not do this. This will give you an inner sense of confidence that you can effectively deal with anything as it arises. The skills you will learn when becoming a Martial Artist are extremely powerful. In fact if you become a Black Belt in the United States, you’ll have to register yourself with Law Enforcement as a Lethal Weapon.

Once in a while someone will pick up these skills and use them for the wrong reasons, perhaps to become a bully. However their reign will be short lived, because fighting comes from within the heart and soul and is more internal than external. And if someone is doing this they never really understood the true meaning of the training. So they may become a Tiger but they will never be a Dragon.

The martial arts have long been held up as a way to enlightenment. Indeed, this is the goal at the end of the road of The True Martial Art. This article is about why this is so, and to enable the reader to walk to the end of that road all the sooner.

Enlightenment is when light is emitted from an individual. With that light the enlightened being sees the world with different perception. His perceptions are heightened, and he has a viewpoint that rises above the norm.

If enlightenment happened because of motion, then the fact of motion would result in enlightenment. Gymnastics, ballet, football, all would result in an enlightened individual, but they don’t, so one must ask oneself, what is it about the Martial Arts that they result in enlightenment?

What is different is that there is combat, and when one understands the essence of combat, one becomes enlightened. What is the essence of combat? One could sum up the subject by saying that when one finally understands he is opposing himself, he becomes enlightened, and a study of the martial arts does eventually result in this.

The universe, you see, is a space filled with moving objects. Every object in the universe has a direction that it is going in. It is only in the martial arts that one actually engages in the study of the directions of objects as the one who creates the direction.

A fist flies through space at you, and you go through a range of emotions. Eventually, you give up emotions so that you can better analyze the flight of the fist. Thus, you rise above base reaction and become cause over the motion of the universe.

A person threatens you, he holds a knife and approaches you, and you must divine the direction before it manifests. You must look at the world the way it exists, and not through some fantasy, and thus you look at the world you created. Thus, you rise above being the flotsam and jetsam of a universe awash with random motion, and thus you take control of the motions of the universe.

There is no motion in this universe, you see, that you have not created. That star shines for you, because of you, if it wasn’t for you, there would be no purpose for that star to shine. And through the tempering of form, the steeling of will, the martial artist engages in combat, to give up combat and become what he truly is, an enlightened being free to enjoy the universe.

It is imperative that boxing shoes provide a perfect fit for the boxer. If he is trying to box with his feet hurting or his shoes slipping around on his feet, chances are he will not win that match. A boxer needs to be one hundred percent confident of his equipment before he enters the ring, and the shoes are a huge part of that. Boxers take enough punishment during their matches. They do not need to add feet blisters to that due to a poor shoe choice.

When choosing boxing equipment and accessories, it is important to find the ones that offer a perfect fit to you. Boxing shoes need to fit just as well as the boxing shorts do. You would not want your shorts falling down or splitting open during a boxing match. So it only makes sense that you would not want your shoes to allow you to slip and slide in the boxing ring or make your feet sweat.

You need to be very particular when choosing your shoes because unless they feel as if they are a PART of your feet, you will have problems with them. Most pairs are made from soft leather, suede, and rounded out with rubber soles that are meant to offer traction. Boxing shoes also have ventilation through mesh windows on all sides so that your feet do not become over heated and too sweaty.

All of those things work together to make your shoes offer everything you need while in the boxing ring. However, they must also be a perfect fit or your feet can become sore, blistered and irritated from trying to move around in the wrong type of shoe. Be sure to try on your shoes before you decide to buy them. Walk and move around in the store to make sure they are going to feel comfortable. Remember, ideally, you want them to feel so comfortable that you do not even notice you are wearing them.

Randy The Natural Couture will square off with Mark Coleman at the main event at UFC 109: Relentless.Coleman would have beat Couture easily if his fight had taken place years ago. However, this is 2010 and not 2006 and The Hammer has seen his mixed martial arts game decline. The collective ages of both fighter will be 91 years by the time this fight rolls around. Bboth fighters were quite similar at the start of their careers as both were standout collegiate wrestling stars and both used their phenomenal base in wrestling to excel in MMA.

Both have their own facilities but Coutures Xtreme Couture is a total MMA club where high level training talent convene while Coleman operates the Hammer House out of Columbus. Xtreme Coulture and Team Hammer House are perfect examples of who Couture and Coleman are as fighters today. Couture has developed a variety of skills in addition to his wrestlingboxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The older he gets, the greater his skill base and the better he becomes. Sadly the same cannot be said for Coleman.

Though Coleman may have been the innovator of the ground and pound this fighting style it has evolved. Couture is a three-time Olympic team alternate (1988, 1992 and 1996), a semifinalist at the 2000 Olympic Trials, a three-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division-I All-American and a two-time NCAA Division-I runner-up. Coleman wrestled for Miami University, in Ohio, where he was a two time Mid-American Conference wrestling champion and NCAA championship. Coleman was awarded a spot on the US Wrestling team, placing seventh overall in the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Though Coleman may have been a better wrester at one time, his current ability no longer overwhelms Couture as his skills have not evolved with MMA. Coleman has been utilizing the same techniques since his university days while Couture has incorporated MMA into his wrestling.

This fight will be an event featuring an old school versus a new school combatant. Couture is now a compete fighter who has used his base in wresting to further build upon his skills. Coleman on the other hand has always relied solely upon his wresting and that is about it. When it comes to sports betting the online UFC betting lines are accurateCouture should be a -390 or even higher.

The MMA betting lines may be steep, but nevertheless worth a small play.

Coleman is is known as the “Godfather of Ground and Pound” but unfortunately that is what he is starting to look like in the octagon as well.Couture will be able to dictate this fight and win with ease.

In martial arts, specifically Taekwondo is considered by many to be an ideal workout as it combines most elements sought after in a balanced fitness program. Many people understand that there are various styles of martial arts but they do not realize that within a style like Tae kwon do there are also various styles.

Tang Soo Do: Tang soo do is an extremely popular martial art that evolved from the kicking arts of taekyon and subak. It is similar to tae kwon do and maintains its heritage as a traditional way of promoting the values of self-control, respect, and discipline in the pursuit of self-improvement. Important characteristics that underpin the art include humanity, wisdom, etiquette, and trust.

Tang soo do is particularly popular in the US, where it is sometimes advertised under the name of karate or Korean karate. Chuck Norris is probably its most well-known practitioner in the West. He is the six-time undefeated world professional middleweight karate champion and one-time martial teacher of Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley, and Donny Osmond.

Han Kum Do: Han kum do (HKD) is a sword system in which the basic cutting techniques mimic the Korean script known as “hangul”. It follows the fundamental principles of multiple strikes on multiple opponents. Developed by Myung Jae Nam, the art came to popular attention during the third international HKD Games in 1997.

Hangul, known as the most scientific alphabet in existence, is very easy to learn and has 24 characters (10 vowels and 14 consonants). Making the sword cuts on the letters of the alphabet is an ingenious training aid that helps students to memorize the various cuts and enables them to perform the required movements instinctively in very little time.

Won Hwa Do: Won hwa Do is a hybrid art that relies on 360-degree rotations to generate power, supporting the key philosophy that in nature there are no straight lines or angles of attack. Long-term practice, however, damages the joints and ligaments. Weapons such as the short stick, knife, and sword are routinely taught, with attacks and defends born from “bi son” the rhythm used during traditional prayer and dance. The circular attacking motions of the art belong to the same tradition as those used for massaging injuries.

Hankido: Hankido is a hybrid martial art that incorporates aspects of aikido, with kicking and striking techniques, acrobatic flips, and kicks reminiscent of tae kwon do. Students develop “ki” Korean for “qi” to learn 12 basic self-defense moves and 24 breathing techniques. They also spin and dance to develop coordination, rhythm, timing, and softness. The art’s philosophy centers on the principles of “circle,” “flow,” and “heart,” and each has a specific exercise. “Jeon hwan bup” (the circle exercise) teaches circular moves for defense, leverage, and throwing. “Young nyu bup” (the flow exercise) encourages students to see moves as a continual interaction between themselves and their opponents, promoting an attitude of fearless, relaxed action. “Shim hwa bup” (the rowing exercise) encourages the heart to develop a fighting spirit.

The biggest fight of the night at UFC 109 Relentness will be the mixed martial arts fight between Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen. The online UFC betting lines should be closer than they currently are, however, the fact that Marquardt is a better grappler whicjh give him the onkline betting advantage.

Marquardt, a three-time Middleweight King of Pancrase Champion, is a BJJ black belt under Ricardo Murgel, He is very good on the ground and has beaten some very good ground fighters in his career such as Demian Maia, Wilson Gouveia, Thales Leites, Jeremy Horn, and Anderson Silva. Marquardt is also a second Degree Black Belt in Pancrase in Greg Jackson’s Gaidojutsu mixed martial arts team. Overall, Marquardt is a well-rounded grappler and has a distinct advantage over Sonnen in this category.

Sonnen is a wrester, r with wins over Paulo Filho,Renato Sobral, Dan Miller, Jason Miller, and Yushin Okami.

Since joining the UFC Marquardt has faced 9 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts in his last 13 fights with losses to Anderson Silva, Thales Leites and Ricardo Almeida. The only fight he legitimately lost was to Silva as his loss to Leites was by point deduction. His loss to Almeida was due to a mis-call by the referee.

UFC betting matchups at fighting-mma.com

Though Sonnen does not have the grappling game he is a better wrestler than Marquardt. He was a two time National Champion, NCAA All-American and he was a US Olympic team alternate. Even though Sonnen has the wrestling advantage in this fight Marquardts dominance on the ground will nullify his game. Marquardt is a very good ground fighter on his back and if Sonnen was to use his wrestling in an attempt to take Marquardt, it will be his undoing.

Unfortunately for Sonnen, he will have to resort to fighting Marquardt in a striking battle. Marquardt has always worked on his game outside of grappling and has sought to improve his striking by combining it with kickboxing, Wing Chun and Kenpo. Though Sonnen likes to push the pace and use his size and strength to bully his opponents. The difference with his next fight is that he will not be able to intimidate Marquardt. Marquardt has the striking advantage and grappling advantage and it is only a matter of time before Marquardt is able to KO Sonnen.

Sonnen has a well-rounded skill set and he is good at a lot of things, but not great at anything. Of his 24 victories, Sonnen has had 15 of them go to the decision, which proves he can fight but does not tend to overwhelm his opponents. Marquardt on the other hand can fight from anywhere. If Sonnen is to stand a chance in this fight he will need to outwork Marquardt as he does not have the grappling nor striking power to beat Marquardt outright.

Sonnen will try to keep this fight standing as his last few losses in MMA have come by submission to high level grapplers. When Sonnen faced such opponents in the past, it took away from his wrestling game and he was forced to resort to striking. However, Marquardt is a very effective striker against whom Sonnen cannot defend.

This fight will most likely go to a decision which is the perfect prop bet to make. The UFC betting lines are pretty steep at -310 but Marquardt has the advantage in almost all areas and the areas in which he does not dominate will be nullified by his dominate grappling.

When it comes to the martial arts a knock out is a home run. I don’t care if you study kenpo or pa kau chang or savate, if the end result of your strike, or chokehold, is that the guy does not go unconscious, then you have not hit a home run. In short, you didn’t complete the work.

If you swing and miss with your punch, it is a strike. Enough of these and you’re going to strike out, because the other guy is going to come to the plate and get his chance to hit. And you cannot bet that when he gets to bat he is not going to swing for a home run.

If you swing and hit and do no damage, it is a foul ball. If you hit a foul in this manner, you have wasted time, and he is that much closer to taking his own turn at fisting your face. So foul balls are the wrong thing to do in the martial arts.

If you swing a fist and hit him and hurt him, that is a base hit. If he takes a step back you have strategic advantage, you get to take another swing. You have gotten to first base, and you may, depending on further swings of the fist, make it all the way around to home base and knock him out.

If he staggers or shows weakness in any way, then you are solidly on second base. You have hurt him, and lessened the chances of him hitting a home run. Further, you have an advantage, no matter how temporary, and you need to really rock and roll on the guy.

If you swing a fist and knock him down, you have made it to third base. Now you know he is hurt, you see the look in his eyes, you see the awareness that you might be able to knock him all the way out. Knocking somebody down is awful close to knocking him out, and home base is in sight.

Now, the above being said, getting a base hit is okay in the long run, but they are not the home run, and there is risk of being put out yourself before you make it home. So you have train yourself to knock your opponent all the way out. You have hit him hard, you have to have the hardest punch in the world, and that is the real solution to the real home run.

The truth of the matter is no matter what martial art you are studying, Kenpo or aikido or savate, you have to knock him out. If you don’t, if it goes to a decision, then nothing has really been decided. If there is no knock out then the fighters were only dancing, not really fighting, and neither fighter was able to get the job done, and they better get back to the dojo and study The True Martial Art.

The most popular punching bags are the hanging bags. This is true for several reasons, but most likely the biggest reason is the price and convenience. They are not that expensive and are pretty simple to install. Generally, support chains and swivels are included with the bags. Sometimes they come with a bottom ring if you want to tie them down to the floor - This gives you added support.

Leather, canvas or vinyl are the materials that punching bags are made from. They also come in several different weights. These are thirty pounds, fifty pounds, sixty five pounds, seventy five pounds, one hundred pounds and one hundred and fifty pounds. While the thirty and fifty pound bags are designed primarily for children, many people who practice traditional martial arts may use them to do hand training. The sixty five and seventy five pound bags are the ones most popular with adults who want something for both hand strikes and foot strikes. For those who are kicking specialists and heavy hitters, the one hundred pound bags work well. Thai boxers most often choose one hundred fifty pound punching bags. While popular, they are also rather costly running from $200 - $300 to start.

The best way to figure out which of the bags is going to work out best for your personal situation is to speak with an expert on the subject. A boxing trainer is an excellent source if you have access to one. Another great source is a martial arts shop. They typically carry everything you will need to become more well rounded in martial arts and this includes bags. Spending some time chatting with the personnel there will most likely provide all of the answers you need as well as making the best choice for your punching bag.

For anyone who wants to either have a successful boxing work out or who wants to be successful in the boxing ring, the perfect kind of boxing shoes are imperative. As you jump, glide, kick and dance around, you will need shoes that will keep your feet comfortable as well as stable so that you do not end up slipping and falling down. The perfect shoe will feel as if there is nothing on your feet at all, but more as if the shoes are a PART of you.

Most shoes are made with a combination of very soft leather, suede with rubber soles on the bottoms. There are others who are made with synthetic man made materials that do not cost quite as much as the leather boxing shoes. The rubber soles are very important so that there is no chance of losing your balance due to sliding while in the ring or during your work out. This rubber provides the traction that keeps you in place, so it needs to be of the highest quality.

Soft leather and suede are the est materials to use in constructing these shoes. It is light weight and will not make your feet feel heavy. The mesh that ventilates the shoes on all sides helps your feet to breathe so they do not become wet and sweaty, which would cause them to slide around within your boxing shoes. The last thing you want to feel when you are practicing your boxing footwork is like you are wading in water.

Something else you need to seriously consider when choosing the best shoes for you is whether you need low top, mid top or high top shoes. The high tops offer the most support for your ankles and are favored by serious martial arts and kick boxing students. You must consider what will work the best for you.
